JOB TITLE: Social Media Community Manager (Freelance)

MACES is on the hunt for a part-time freelance Social Media Manager who will support the Association in maintaining and increasing student awareness about who we are, our services, events, and more; while increasing engagement on our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn). If you are passionate about all things marketing, content creation and social media and can dedicate about 5 hours per week, we want to hear from you!
Working closely with the VP Communications and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) you will:
- Create content that is relevant to our members: the students and alumni of the McGill School of Continuing Studies
- Plan and schedule posts/stories about services, events, and related announcements
- Create engagement campaigns for new services, elections, and referendums
- Increase engagement across channels (likes, comments, shares, story views, new followers, etc.)
- Engage with the community and comment on posts from other accounts
- Follow new accounts; respond to DM’s, re-share stories
The ideal candidate:
- Proven experience managing multiple social media channels and creating strategic content
- Excellent writing skills in English required (French an asset)
- Background in social media, content creation, and marketing preferred
- Proficiency with Photoshop/Illustrator/Canva or similar tools
- Preference will be given to current McGill SCS students and alumni
